I’ll just quicky throw this in here:

There are now Ubuntu packages available in Launchpad; I’d like to have some people test them:

Version 20110424_0 released.

The changelog:

- Small bug fixes
- Item drop multiplication fixed
- HP added (there is no way to regain it though except dying, so damage is disabled by default)
- Added a simple monster which spawns to dark places at map generation time
- Some code refactoring and cleaning (possibly new bugs)
- Smooth lighting with simple ambient occlusion
- Updated main menu

I hope you like it!

Ohloh

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

I hadn’t even heard of this site before but anyway, somebody added my project to ohloh.

Now, there is one thing I noticed: It says the project is worth of 7 person years of effort and would have cost $402,942 to code from scratch. I do know I have worked pretty hard on this one but doing a job of 7 years in around half a year isn’t bad at all even for me!

Speaking of money, I’ve got around $30 worth of donations as of now. Well… I guess that’s kinda fair… or what do you think? 8)

Forum created

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

There have been many requests for a discussion board, so I have now created one, and hosted it myself. I hope it gets lots of users, but not so much that it’ll completely kill my connection. 8-)

Listing of games in the “minecraft genre”

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

I was browsing the log of referrer addresses of my website and stumbled upon this list of many minecrafty game projects:

http://www.gamehalle.de/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=123&pid=565

It seems to list quite a many, some of which I haven’t seen before.

Also a good one is the AlternativeTo page of Minecraft: http://alternativeto.net/software/minecraft

EDIT: Fixed the alternative.to link.
