Installing the Port Replicator Network driver. The following instructions tell how to install/reinstall the Port Replicator Network driver on your computer. Note: If you a have a printer connected to your computer you can print these instructions from Notepad by clicking on File on the menu bar and then click on print. Installing the Port Replicator with NIC network Driver on a System with Factory Installed Software: 1. Turn the system off or place the system in Suspend mode. 2. Attach the Port Replicator with NIC to the system. 3. Power on or resume system operation. The operating system autodetects and configures the Port Replicator network drivers. Follow the instructions provided by the installation procedure. Reinstalling the Port Replicator Network Driver: 1. Remove the port replicator (if attached). The port replicator must not be attached to the computer when installing/reinstalling the drivers. 2. Click on the Start button located on the Taskbar. 3. Select Settings. 4. Click on Control Panel. 5. Double-click on the System icon. 6. Click on the Hardware Profiles tab. 7. Click on the "Dock 1" hardware profile then click on Delete. 8. Click on OK. 9. Double-click on the Network icon in Control Panel. 10. Remove all the network drivers. This is done by clicking on a driver and then clicking on remove. Do this for each driver. 11. Restart the system. 12. Go the instructions for "Installing the Port Replicator Network Driver". Installing the Port Replicator Network Driver: 1. Remove the port replicator (if attached). The port replicator must not be attached to the computer when installing the drivers. 2. From Window Explorer double-click on the CD-ROM drive. 3. Double-click on the drivers folder. 4. Double-click on the Win95 folder. 5. Double-click on the "Port Replicator NIC" folder. 6. Double-click on setup.exe. Follow the instructions and accept all the default settings or choose the language. a. Shutdown the computer. b. Attach the port replicator to a working network and then to the computer. c. Restart the computer. Wait for the system to restart and click on OK. 7. When prompted, enter the System Name and Workgroup. 8. If asked, insert the Windows 95 CD (APM) into the CD-ROM drive. Enter D:\Win95 (D is the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive). 9. Restart the system when asked. 10. The system will build a new Hardware Profile that includes the Port Replicator NIC. This will take a few moments. 11. Click on No when asked to Restart the system. 12. Set the video settings for the new hardware profile. <<< The recommended video settings are: 800 x 600 x 16 Bit (High Color) This is done using the Display applet in the Control Panel. 13. For all new settings to take effect, Restart the system.
